Santa Monica/UCLA Palliative Care Team

Dr. Wallenstein is part of the Santa Monica/UCLA Palliative Care Team and to me is very special because he started his health care career as a social worker.  He is especially admired by his co workers as someone who goes above and beyond to provide excellent palliative care for his patients.  He helped develop a terminal sedation policy at SM/UCLA and currently is developing a ketamine policy for oncology patients.  He provides outpatient follow up for oncology patients who need aggressive pain management and always includes the whole family approach in his care.  He has provided educational lectures in pain and palliative care to multiple audiences and is dedicated to providing support and guidance to physicians and residents he works with.  We are proud to honor Dr. Wallenstein tonight for all that he does.  Congratulations!
