Continuing Education

The Department of Continuing Medical Education for the City of Hope attests that this educational activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of ACCME through the sponsorship of City of Hope. City of Hope is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physicians: City of Hope designates this CME activity for a maximum of 5 Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award™. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the education activity.
 
The following may apply CME Category 1 credit for license renewal:

Registered Nurses: Nurses may report up to 5 credit hours toward the continuing education requirements for license renewal by their state Board of Registered Nurses. CME may be noted on the license renewal application in lieu of a BRN provider number.

Physician’s Assistants: The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) states that AMA accredited Category 1 courses is acceptable for CME requirements for recertification.

Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT) & Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW): City of Hope is accredited by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences, PCE Provider #4017.  This course meets the qualifications for 5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
